Dr. Chen was graduated from School of Dentistry, National Taiwan University in 1982 and completed her residentship at National Taiwan University Hospital. She continued her professional training in the teaching center of CaseWestern Reserved University and got her PhD in the School of Engineering, University of Auckland, New Zealand (1995-2000). Recently, she serves as the Vice Dean in the College of Medicine, National Taiwan University and also is the director of student affair office in the College of Medicine, National Taiwan University. She also is a professor in the Graduate Institute of Clinical Dentistry, National Taiwan University. She is the director in the Center of Stem Cells Tissue Regeneration and Development of Biomaterials. She also is a visiting staff in the Department of Operative and Esthetic Restoration, National Taiwan University Hospital. She was the Director in the Graduate Institute of Clinical Dentistry, National Taiwan University during 2015-2021. Professor Chen's clinical major is Esthetic Dentistry and she concentrated in the studies of stem cells tissue regeneration and development of biomaterials. She have got many patents about the development of biomaterials. She works on stem cells regeneration, she isolated stem cells from tooth bud and then auto-transplanted into swine and had regenerated teeth with root formation successfully. The interactions of tooth buds cells with biomaterials were also investigated and published. Professor Chen got Best Teaching Award in National Taiwan University Hospital and National Taiwan University. She got Excellent Tutor Award in National Taiwan University in 2014. Professor Chen was ellected as fellow of international faculty of dentists in 2007. Professor Chen got Special Contribution Award in National Dental Association for copper award in 2009, silver award in 2011 and gold award in 2020.

Dr. Chun Hung Chu is a professor (Cariology) and an associate dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Hong Kong. He is the President of the Society of Preventive Dentistry of Hong Kong, the President of the Asia Academy of Preventive Dentistry, a FDI World Dental Federation Public Health Committee Member (2021-2024), the Vice President of the Asian-Oceanian Federation of Conservative Dentistry (2020-2023). Dr Chu is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and has received the prestigious AGD Lifelong Learning & Service Recognition Award. By examination, Dr Chu became a fellow of the Royal Australasians College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS), a dental fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd), UK, and a diplomate of the American Board of General Dentistry. He serves as a RACDS Dental Public Health board member, RCSEd dental examiner and an external examiner of overseas universities. Dr Chu was elected as a fellow of the RCSEd Faculty of Dental Trainers for his eminence in teaching, a fellow of the Academy of Dental Materials for his excellence in research and a fellow of the International College of Dentists for his dedication in pro bono community services. He has served as the Chair of the International College of Dentists section XV Humanitarian Service Committee. He published approximately 300 peer reviewed journal articles with a Scopus h index of 46. He is a section chief editor of Frontiers in Oral Health and Dentistry Journal, and an editor of Journal of Dental Research, JDR Clinical & Translational Research, International Dental Journal and BMC Oral Health. As the principal investigator, Dr Chu received more than HK$ 72M grants for research and clinical care in caries management. He teaches restorative dentistry for dental students and supervises research for PhD students and post-doctoral fellows.

At the University of Ferrara, Italy, prof. Roberto Farina is an Associate Professor and Chair of Oral Surgery, School of Dentistry; Coordinator of the School of Dental Hygiene; and a member of the Directive Council of the Research Center for the Study of Periodontal and Peri-implant Diseases (Director: Prof. L. Trombelli).
Prof. Farina's research interests are limited to Periodontology and Oral Implantology, and include the pathogenetic, diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic aspects of periodontal and peri-implant diseases. To date, prof. Farina has published several book chapters and scientific articles in the major international peer-reviewed journals of the dental field. Prof. Farina is Associate Editor of Minerva Stomatologica and member of the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Periodontology. Also, he is a member of the Expert Council of the Osteology Foundation. -

Mikako Hayashi graduated from Osaka University Faculty of Dentistry in 1987, and was awarded a PhD by Osaka University in 1997. In 2001, she did post-doc research into the longevity of tooth-colored restorations at the University of Manchester Dental Hospital supervised by Professor Nairn Wilson. While in the UK, she joined the Cochrane Oral Health Group, and had opportunity to learn EBM.
In 2012, she was appointed Professor and Head of Department of Restorative Dentistry and Endodontology at Osaka University Graduate School of Dentistry. In 2020, she simultaneously became director of Osaka University Dental Hospital, with responsibility for organizing and running all the clinics and inpatient hospital care, for which she devised successful health and safety protocols to manage care in the Covid era.
In 2018, she established the Japan Chapter of the Alliance for a Cavity-Free Future, an international charity active in 30 countries that seeks to vanquish caries worldwide. As president of the Japan Chapter, she is actively developing an education program to change dentists’ mindset and behavior away from "drill and fill" and towards patient-centered biological carious management.
From April 2023, she became president of the Japanese Society of Conservative Dentistry (JSCD): her ambition is to disseminate the importance of preserving tooth structures to achieve better oral health, one of the best harbingers for a long and healthy life. As a part of the academic activity of JSCD, she has been author of several clinical practice guidelines for caries management based on the MI policy. Hayashi's current research themes include investigating the mechanical properties of dentin; understanding how caries develops as a way of combatting it; and studying pulp biology to develop vital pulp therapies. She has published many original research articles and edited textbooks and frequently gives lectures and seminars domestically and internationally. -

Hyun (Michel) Koo is a dentist-scientist trained in food engineering, microbiology and cell biology, and an inventor with several US and international patents. He is a professor in the School of Dental Medicine and the co-founder of the Center for Innovation & Precision Dentistry (CiPD), an inter-school center bridging Dental Medicine, Engineering and Computational Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. CiPD bridges clinicians, scientists, and engineers to develop new technologies and advance oral health innovations through research, training, and entrepreneurship. He is the director of an NIH-supported program to train the next-generation dentists/scientists at the interface of dental medicine and engineering to study disease mechanisms, develop affordable therapies and precision diagnostics. His research focusses on understanding how biofilms (plaque) cause oral diseases and assessing new therapeutic strategies by integrating nanotechnology, materials sciences, and robotics. He has published extensively in dental, biomedical, and multidisciplinary journals, including Science, Science Robotics, Nature communications, Nature Reviews Microbiology, PNAS and Journal of Dental Research. He is an elected fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the recipient of the Distinguished Scientist and Innovation in Oral Care Awards from the International Association for Dental Research (IADR).

Prof. Dr. Kunzelmann is Professor of Operative Dentistry at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Germany. He is the Deputy Director of the Department of Operative Dentistry and Periodontology at the University Hospital where, in addition to treating patients, he is a research administrator, scientist, and educator of dental students and graduates. He is also a reviewer and/or advisory board member for numerous scientific journals, including Journal of Dental Research, Dental Materials, and American Journal of Dentistry.
Prof. Dr. Kunzelmann received his doctorate from Julius Maximilian University in Würzburg, Germany. Prof. Dr. Kunzelmann habilitated in the field of dental materials at Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich.
Prof. Dr. Kunzelmann has published over 200 articles and over 25 books or book chapters in the field of restorative materials and techniques and optical methods of caries diagnosis. He has given numerous educational lectures and practical courses both nationally and internationally. His research and teaching focus is on dental materials for all types of composite and ceramic restorative materials, as well as caries diagnosis and smart or self-limiting caries removal techniques. -

Ting-Hsun Lan received his dental education and Dr. med. dent. degree from the College of Dental Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan in 2011/ 2017. In 2014 Dr. Lan received an Assistant Professorship at the College of Dental Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University in Taiwan. From 2021 on he was an Associate Professor at the same University. In 2018 Dr. Lan was a Visiting Scholar at the Minnesota Dental Research Center for Biomaterials and Biomechanics, Minnesota University, USA. Dr. Lin received his DDS degree from Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan in 1987. After obtaining periodontal postgraduate training certificate and master degree at the Ohio State University in 1991, he was appointed as clinical assistant professor in department of periodontology, college of dentistry, OSU from 1991-92.
He is a diplomate of American Board of Periodontology (ABP) certified in 2000 and International Congress of Oral Implantologist (ICOI) certified in 2014. He is the past president of Taiwan Academies of Gnathology (TAG), Aesthetic Dentistry (TAAD) and Periodontology (TAP). The first volume of his academic book publication released in 2019 by the Quintessence Publishing Beijing titled: Color Atlas: Soft Tissue Management for Natural Teeth and Dental Implant-A Problem Solving Driven Guide.
Dr. Lin is currently part-time teaching at the Ohio State University as adjunct assistant professor and the National Taiwan University as an attending. He maintains a full-time private practice limited to periodontics, implant and esthetic dentistry in Taipei, Taiwan since 1994. He also founded and directed a training center: the International Professors Dental Institute for Clinical Training (iProDICT) in Taipei since 2007 in which he offers Perio, Implant and Esthetic courses for participants all over the world.
His numerous lectures, presentations and courses nationally and internationally were very well received. With his major passion on "maximal preservation" for natural dentition and "optimal reconstruction" for dental implants, he endeavors in shedding the light of saving hopeless teeth and implants even without the compromise of esthetics.
